Happy Birthday, Jesus!

This was one of my favorite Christmas's yet. We have been so blessed and our lives are so full. As we sat in our living room Christmas night reading the birth of Jesus, the verse in Luke 1:49-50 stuck with me. "For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him." Mary spoke that to Elizabeth when she went to visit her, speaking of how blessed she is that God would choose her to bare his son.

Even though God has not chosen me to do something as amazing as being the mother of our savior- he has blessed my family and I in more ways than I can think of. "He has done great things for me..." even before I chose to follow him. This year, he blessed our socks off. We welcomed another healthy little girl into our family, Mr. received a job promotion/change, we witnessed God working in the lives of both Adam's family and mine (and in friend's too!). He is leading us on the journey to foster/adopt, Mr. is starting school in January, we had the best summer with our children, and he has blessed us so much that our children were able to have gifts under the Christmas tree, food in their bellies, be surrounded by family, and still we were able to give both money and time for his kingdom.

Our Christmas and Christmas Eve consisted of family, food, worship, giving, laughter, snow, gifts, hot chocolate, santa, smores, toasty fires and a fresh perspective on life.
